Vinyasa literally means “the intelligent putting together of things” or “uninterrupted flow.”
Vinyasa Yoga is best described as asanas, or postures, linked together while synchronizing one’s breath with movement. The transitions of the yoga poses are done at a steady, deliberate pace, and it is up to the teacher to decide how quickly to move through these transitions.
In Vinyasa Yoga, movement and breath are not separate entities. The teacher instructs you to move from pose to pose with an emphasis always on the breath; therefore, the breath becomes the string that links the poses together. It is the constant. Vinyasa Yoga is one of the best ways to refine your focus and presence in life.
